The Festival de la Cité takes place in various unexpected locations, in the city centre and around the historic heart of the city. The varied programme includes theatre and music, performances and dance, circus and street art and there are performances and workshops especially for young audiences.

A must for all chocolate lovers! L'École du Chocolat welcomes children to learn the basics of chocolate making and its history. Spitting Fire: Design, Expression and Development of a Fanzine
July 4 - 7, 2024
Over three days, teens will be supported to express what is bubbling inside them through the body, writing or visuals and prepare for a public performance on Sunday. The compiled fanzine will be available at L'Orangerie for the rest of the summer.

During the Morzine Spartan Ultra World Championship & Trifecta Weekend 2024, there are races for children aged 4-14, consisting of 10-20 obstacles over 1-3km. The focus is on fun, but kids are sure to develop grit and mental toughness while running, jumping, climbing, and crawling among age-appropriate obstacles.

The slowUp welcomes cyclists, roller skaters, scooters, roller skiers and all other means of transport. Roads will be closed to traffic along a 23km circuit around Lac de Joux to allow children and families to ride together at their own pace in an idyllic setting. Join at any point of the route and continue for as long as you choose. The route is very easily accessible by public transport and there are refreshment points at regular intervals.

Take a step back in time and enjoy a journey on an old fashioned tram on a tour around central Geneva following historic tramways. Join at any point along the route, Lancy Bachet Gare, Carouge Rondeau, Carouge Marché, Plainpalais, Gare Cornavin, Bel Air, Place de Neuve and either do the full circuit (60 minutes) or hop off where you wish.

During the La Tour Genève Triathlon weekend, the triathletes of tomorrow have the opportunity to participate in an adapted race for children. The Kidsathlon race is designed for children aged 6-10 and features a 50m lake swim followed by a 500m run. The Junior race is for children aged 11-13 and features a 200m lake swim and a 1.5km run.

Various musical concerts are scheduled across the weekend and there is a petting farm and tractor rides for children.

Puppet Making Workshops

Four afternoons of creative workshops focused on puppet making. The different workshops will guide children on the creation of sock puppets, finger puppets, rod puppets and a mini tabletop theatre. Open to all accompanied children from 2 years old.

Outdoor Cinema: Les Trois Mousquetaires: D’Artagnan

A free screening of the 2023 film by Martin Bourboulon in the park next to the Plan-les-Oates Mairie. Deckchairs are available in limited numbers but you can bring your own or a blanket to sit on. The film has a legal viewing age of 12 and the French language version will be shown.

Plein-les-Watts Festival

In addition to a series of concerts, there are many street art groups at Plein-les-Watts and shows and activities for children including a fire circus, aerial cabaret and a clown show. The festival is open to everyone, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The festival Au Pays des Enfants brings together young and old alike for numerous indoor and outdoor shows as well as activities and workshops for children. Street art, poetry, theatre, music and dance make up this rich and varied program. Au Pay des Enfants is one of FLOK's Best Family Festivals in Switzerland.
